ALPHA PHI OMEGA – SPRING 2018 RUSH
Alpha Phi Omega is your place for leadership, friendship, and service on campus and beyond! Here at Cornell, we are lucky to have the longest continually running chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity. While we are an organization which stresses community service, our commitment to serve is matched by our bonds with each other.
We welcome ALL who wish to serve to join our organization! We do not haze. In order to successfully rush, you must attend ONE Information Session, ONE Leadership workshop, ONE Fellowship event, and TWO Service events (for a total of FIVE events). You are welcome to attend more if you so please – all events attended will count towards your Pledging requirements (e.g. the more events you complete during Rush, the fewer you will have to complete during the semester)!! Additionally, you must submit a brief letter of intent and $40 dues if you intend to pledge. There is no fee for rushing.
***For your convenience, we have created a Rush Checklist at the following URL: https://tinyurl.com/apogammasp18
Letter of Intent:
All Rushes must complete a brief letter of intent, roughly one page, 12pt font, double-spaced (300-400 words). We ask you to take this opportunity to reflect and self-evaluate. In this letter, we ask you to answer the following questions:
-How did you hear about APO?
-Why are you interested in joining?
-What do you hope to gain from this experience?
-What will you bring to the Brotherhood?
These letters will not be subjectively evaluated. Please send the letters of intent to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “APO Rush Letter – Spring ‘18” by Wednesday, February 14th, 11:59 PM EST. Late letters will not be accepted!
***Once you have completed Rush, you will receive an email about attending ONE Inductions Ceremony (where you will have a chance to pay your dues).
